Restructuring and Insolvency Associate / Senior Associate / Assistant Manager / Manager

We are currently seeking ambitious and qualified candidates with the following attributes to join our Malaysia office as a Restructuring and Insolvency Associate / Senior Associate / Assistant Manager / Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day administration of different insolvency engagements, including compulsory and voluntary liquidations, and receiverships across our offices.

  • Attend to statutory and compliance procedures for insolvency engagements.

  • Assist in executing restructuring engagements.

  • Undertake investigative work for the benefit of recovering assets.

  • Liaise with stakeholders, creditors and other advisors.

  • Draft reports, correspondences and other deliverables to clients.

  • Contribute to the development of best practices.

  • Establish and develop relationships with potential and existing clients.

  • Coach and train junior staff (subject to level of position).

  • Participate in client meetings and assist in the preparation of presentations.

  • Experience in leading, working on and managing a variety of projects and engagements (applicable for experienced roles).

The successful candidate will possess technical knowledge of financial accounting practices and be able to demonstrate experience (commensurate with the applicable employment grade) with the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Law or other Business-related discipline is preferred.

  • CA, CPA or equivalent. Consideration will also be given to part qualified candidates, with support given to complete the qualification process.

  • Eight (8) plus years of relevant experience including insolvency, restructuring and forensic accounting for the position of Senior Manager, five (5) plus years of relevant experience for the position of Manager, three (3) plus years of relevant experience for the position of Assistant Manager, two (2) plus years of relevant experience for the position of Senior Associate, and fresh graduates for the position of Associate.

  • Adequate business and commercial acumen.

  • Experience in cross-border matters would be advantageous.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, multi-tasking and organisational skills.

  • Good written and oral communication skills in both English and Malay. Ability to communicate in Chinese would be advantageous.
