Perun Consultants hires Head of Commercial Damages and Valuation

Perun Consultants is pleased to announce that Hamish Egan has joined the firm as a Director and Head of Commercial Damages and Valuation, based in Singapore.

With over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance, Hamish specialises in forensic accounting and business valuations, and holds professional qualifications in both accounting and finance, including Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder, and Chartered Valuer and Appraiser (CVA). Prior to joining Perun Consultants, Hamish gained experience working in high profile professional services firms, and also, notably, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, GIC.

For the last 13 years, Hamish has been based in Singapore, working with clients or in relation to investments from various sectors throughout Asia (including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam), Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, including technology, construction, manufacturing, energy, mining, and financial services.

His practice covers calculation of commercial damages, business valuation, and forensic accounting in relation to both contentious maters (often arising from shareholder and post-acquisition disputes or other forms of alleged breaches of contracts) and non-contentious matters (such as investment monitoring, financial reporting, and review and development of portfolio valuation policies). For contentious matters, Hamish has experience successfully working across multiple forums, including international arbitration (for example, under ICC, UNCITRAL, SIAC and AIAC rules), litigation, and mediation.

Gwynn Hopkins, Founder and Managing Director, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Hamish to Perun Consultants. His depth and breadth of experience complements and bolsters the broad range of expertise within our group and will provide exceptional value to our clients. This strategic hire highlights our continued commitment to strengthening our capabilities and delivering the highest quality of services to clients throughout the region.”

Perun Consultants continues to expand in the region, investing in people and tools to ensure the firm continues to thrive in the face of new technologies and geopolitical instability. With offices in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, our team of highly qualified and multi-lingual CPAs and finance professionals service clients throughout the Greater China, South East Asia, CIS, Middle East and Caribbean markets.
