Professional (and personal) insight into our Senior Consultant

Allow me to properly introduce myself—my name is Akanksha Sagar, and I am a Senior Consultant at Perun Consultants. With over 12 years expertise in credit investing and analysis, I am experienced in a range of topics, including structured credit, distressed debt, due diligence, fundamental financial analysis, and business risk assessment, to name a few.

As one might expect, my role at Perun Consultants is quite diverse, and my day-to-day role is rather multi-faceted. Recently I have been engaged in a number of projects ranging from valuations of businesses across a variety of industries, to advisory assignments which involve supporting litigators in investment/valuation disputes. Relatedly, I’m also responsible for closely monitoring the Indian market, and scoping out potential opportunities in various sectors. And as flexibility is intrinsic to our collective success at Perun Consultants, I’m also given the independence to continuously develop my learning of valuation methodologies and techniques.

One thing I particularly enjoy about my role is brainstorming with my team while expertly navigating business matters that are complex in nature. Case in point: we once worked on a valuation for a real estate company, where, the combination of inter-group holdings and investments undertaken by the sponsor significantly complicated the valuation process. To unravel the mesh of multi-layered transactions and funds flow with limited documentation and management support was an analytical and accounting challenge which required multiple team deliberations and the combined skill sets of the entire working group.

I like to think of my personal work ethic as an invaluable asset, given the current financial strain across the globe. Here at Perun Consultants, my colleagues and I are proud to offer assistance to our clients in need. From financial advisory services to full-on turnaround/restructuring, we also offer receivership/independent director services to lenders and investors who are in the midst of experiencing stress in investee companies, and are in need of professionals to manage the liquidation of assets (or asset tracing and recovery of funds).
